We are on spring break this week and until today it has really felt like spring.  It has just been a wonderful, welcome change. So to celebrate the first full day of spring this last Monday I made some strawberry jam.  The strawberries were on sale for an unbelievable price of .99.  I also put some in the freezer so we can make smoothies when it gets warm again.  Here are a few pictures of the wonderful strawberries.

First sign of spring/summer in the kitchen

I am so thankful for the beautiful color to remind us spring/summer is around the corner

A little bit of work and

A wonderful taste of spring/summer
Hope you are enjoying your first days of spring.

Blessings

It will be a little while before we get to enjoy spring. We just got hit with a fresh dusting of snow but I have hope that it will return again.

  2. Wow! Wish I could have found a good deal on strawberries, not yet.

Today is cold and I agree it was so spring like for the past 4 days that today is kinda letting the wind out of my sails.

Enjoy the rest of your spring break :)

  5. Wonderful!Coincidentally I've bought some of the frozen variety to make the same thing! Where I live the fresh ones in the size you bought costs us between$8 to $10.. they're imported. I can get a bag frozen for about $5 or $6 and there's a lot more in it too. Why, you may ask would I go through the trouble to buy frozen strawberries to make homemade jam? Well, the good ones are too expensive and the cheaper ones are no good ;-) We're watching the high fructose corn syrup and glucose etc.. I used to make homemade jam with a fruit called guavas that grow in my country.. I had a tree in my yard until we cut it down when I was pregnant with the last baby.

    Anyway, happy spring break!
