Snow Days

Image found here

We woke up yesterday morning to a snow day.  Yea!! So this is what we did  with some of our day. Worked on my scarf so maybe I can wear it before winter is over.  I am making it big and bulky.  It will be perfect for those freezing cold days I walk to work.  Remember I walk everyday to work.  This is what I have so far.

I have put together my binder for my study of James with the Good Morning Girls Club.  I am so excited about getting started next week.

I made some cinnamon bread and regular white bread with the help of my new Kitchen Aid Mixer.  Man, I love that thing.  I can not believe how much easier it seems to make things for me.  This is my first attempt at bread that was not made in a bread machine.  Not to bad looken. Oh it tastes so good.

Courtney and her best friend strung some popcorn for the birds and squirrels.  We thought they would enjoy the treat.

Our cat thought he needed his share.

Then they went outside for at least a couple of hours.  I took pictures of some kind of snow sculptor they made.  They were not sure what it was either.  I don't think they were to happy when our dog thought it was something that looked good to hike his leg on.  We just laughed and laughed though.

For dinner I made a wonderful Cheesy Enchilada Soup by Paula Deen.  There is nothing better on a cold, snowy day than soup and homemade bread.  Yum, Yum.

Other than doing a little vacuuming.  We took the day and just enjoyed it.  These days are such a blessing when we get them.  What would have made it absolutely perfect is my husband and  two college kids being home.  And today we have another snow day!!!  Two days what a double blessing. :)

Hope you enjoy your Tuesday.

  5. The bread sounds delicious. I need to get some banana bread or muffins or cake made this afternoon. While it's baking I will be cleaning my pile in our room. Downsizing a must! I have the same Max Lucado inspirational Bible. I enjoy it alot, since I wanted it badly but didn't want to pay the $40 price for it. I bought it at a second hand store when we were at the coast a few years ago for about $6! Enjoy your snow for me. We haven't had any this year. Hugs!
