We have taken it pretty easy this Memorial Day. Alyssa had to work in Emporia so she was unable to come home for the weekend. She also moved into her new house with her new room mates. Ryan went with his girlfriends family to their lake house for the day. I am sure he will come home tired and with a sun burn. Courtney is hanging out with a friend in the neighborhood. So we grilled hamburgers and made home made ice cream. Oh it was so good. I tried a new recipe for home made hot fudge sauce. It turned out so yummy and it was so easy to make. Mikes grilled hamburgers were wonderful. It has been a long time since we have had grilled hamburgers. One person really on my mind this Memorial Day is my late mother-in-law. She passed away almost 6 years ago. We always spent this weekend together. The whole family grilling, laughing and having a wonderful time together. Things have changed so much but as I go with the flow of life changing, kids growing, I long for those days. My mother-in-law was a loving, giving, fun to be around person. She taught me so much. I could have never asked for a better mother-in-law. I just pray that one day I can be half the mother-in-law to my kids spouses as she was to me. I hope you are having a wonderful, relaxing day. Don't forget to thank God for that special person that crossed your path at some time in your life while they were here in their temporary home.

Farmers Market and Garden
Our Farmers Market open this last weekend. I bought my first brown eggs. No I did not get a good deal but I love supporting the local farmers. I can't wait for the crops to start coming in.
So do you have a garden? How is it doing?

Graduation and Baccalaureate
Oh man have we been so busy. We are trying to get everything ready for Ryan's graduation. Lots of things to do around the house. Friends and family are coming to eat before his graduation. The menu we have planned is BBQ sandwiches, baked beans, potato salad, chips, chocolate chip cookies, brownies, cheesecake, gummy worms, sour patch kids, pop, water and tea. All of his favorite things. I am so proud of him. He started his summer job today. He wanted to get started saving money for college in the fall and said he did not have anything better to do, so he works Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. He has Friday off because he has graduation practice. He had Baccalaureate last night. It was put on by some of the Seniors and Pastors from some of the churches in the area. It was absolutely wonderful. The speeches given, songs sung and just the joy of thanking God for getting all of us through the school years. We blessed and prayed over the Seniors. The only thing sad about it was there were only about 20 kids there. He has approximately 167 kids in his class. It makes me sad that parents and kids do not attend such a wonderful and important event. I will post picture of Graduation next week. Back to cleaning and getting things ready
